Police find Food Time Market robber’s stash of 82 packs of stolen cigarettes

DAYTON — UPDATE @ 11:45 p.m.

Police recovered 82 packs of cigarettes, $25 cash and a black glove this afternoon while tracking the armed suspect who robbed Food Time Market, 301 Geyer St.

Two officers were in the area when a man asked if they were looking for someone. He just saw a male dressed in black with a black ski mask run through the alley behind the 400 block of Brightwood Avenue to Forest Avenue, according to a Dayton police report. Moments later, the officers heard a call about the robbery, with the same suspect description.

A police K-9 officer helped lead police to a building, where they found the unopened boxes of cigarettes, cash and glove. The suspect was not there, and no arrests were made.

A suspect with a gun robbed Food Time Market this afternoon in Dayton.

The robbery was reported shortly before 1 p.m. at the store, 301 Geyer St.

According to initial reports, the suspect took money and cigarettes before he fled on foot. He is described as a tall male wearing all black, including a mask.

Dayton police are searching for the suspect.
