Emergency units were called to the Dayton intersection around 1 a.m. on reports of a crash with at least one person trapped inside the vehicle, emergency scanner traffic indicates.
Our crew on the scene observed at least one person was transported from the scene by medics, however their condition wasn’t released.
The vehicle crashed into a utility pole, which prompted Dayton Power and Light crews to respond and make repairs.
You cannot get through on Gettysburg Ave. we believe this is due to the power pole being hit. PLEASE PAY ATTENTION IN THE AREA NEAR JAMES H. MCGEE. I was almost hit by a car that wasn’t paying attention to the stopped cars in front of them while I was standing on the sidewalk. pic.twitter.com/8diP3mibWF

After crews initially cleared the crash, railroad gates near the crash site started to malfunction, which blocked both directions of James H. McGee Boulevard until just before 6:30 a.m.
Additional details about the crash were not available. We’ll continue to update this story as we learn more.
