DAYTON — Investigators are working to learn if an explosion caused an apartment fire in Dayton Sunday morning.

Emergency crews responded to the apartment in the 1000 block of Cumberland Avenue and found heavy flames showing in the back of the building.
Everyone got out of the building safely, according to fire crews on scene.
The occupants reported hearing an explosion just before the fire broke out, according to crews on scene.
The building is expected to be a total loss.
