Dayton Fire Jordyn Huffman/Staff

UPDATE @ 2:13 a.m.

A Dayton man is uninjured after a fire alarm woke and alerted him to a fire in a bedroom of his home Sunday morning.

Dayton district fire chief Cheryl Clark said the man called 9-1-1 and unsuccessfully attempted to extinguish the fire with a garden hose before firefighters arrived.

Clark said a majority of the fire damage was contained to the bedroom and a fire investigator is on scene determining a cause.

The homeowner has no pets and was the only person in the house at the time of the fire, according to Clark.
