Missing Middletown woman found dead in the river

MIDDLETOWN — A missing Middletown woman has been found dead in the Great Miami River this afternoon.

72-year-old Deborah Riley was last seen when she left her home on Lincoln Street around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday and didn’t come back.

“We received a call that a body was found floating in the river. Upon recovering the body we were able to identify that it was Deborah Riley,” Middletown police said.

Riley suffered from dementia and law enforcement had been concerned for her safety and issued a statewide endangered missing adult alert over the weekend.

A cause of Riley’s death wasn’t immediately known.
