DAYTON — Fire crews in Dayton worked to extinguish a garage fire Thursday evening.
Crews were dispatched to a residence on North Irwin St. near Gaddis Blvd. around 5 p.m.

Dayton Fire Captain David Thomas said a two-car, detached garage had caught fire. Flames from the garage spread to the back of the residence which Thomas said was previously damaged in a fire about two weeks ago.
Thomas said there were two vehicles in the garage at the time of the fire, but no one was inside the home.

The garage, Thomas said, was considered a total loss.
The fire is under investigation.
