DAYTON — A morning fire that broke out in a Dayton home Monday morning caused significant damage to the structure, but the occupants escaped injuries, according to firefighters.
Crews were called to the home in the 4400 block of Greenwich Village Avenue around 9:30 a.m. and reported heavy smoke and flames throughout the structure.
Initial reports to firefighters indicated occupants may have been trapped inside, however crews found that all occupants inside the home were able to safely evacuate, investigators told News Center 7.
No injuries were reported by either the occupants or firefighters that battled the blaze.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, however the house is believed to be deemed a total loss due to the damage.
