2 in custody on drug charges after hours long standoff, drug bust in Dayton

DAYTON — Two suspects are in custody following a SWAT standoff that lasted several hours in Dayton Monday afternoon.

Kevin Owings, 44, and George Owings, 35, were arrested and booked into the Montgomery County Jail on drug-related charges.

The Montgomery County Regional Agencies Narcotics and Gun Enforcement task force and the Dayton Police Department SWAT team responded to the 2100 block of N. Main Street around 12:45 p.m. in attempt to serve a search warrant as part of an ongoing investigation.

A drug raid allowed detectives to seize fentanyl, cocaine, marijuana and three firearms, according to a release from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

RANGE task force detectives also served a search warrant at a residence in the 2100 block of Wagner Ford Road in Harrison Twp. as part of this investigation as well.

There, detectives reportedly seized “a large amount of cocaine”, in addition to heroin and six firearms, including two AR-15 rifles, according to sheriff’s office.
