Robbery, baseball bat attack said to have started at Springfield area bar

CLARK COUNTY — A man was transported to the hospital after residents found him suffering from an apparent attack, when he arrived at their barn on on Yeazell Road Monday.

Officers responded to the residence around 8:30 a.m. in the 5100 block of Yeazell.

According to deputies, the man was transported to Springfield Regional Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.

According to a Springfield police report, the incident was said to have began at the Wagon Wheel bar at 1005 S. Burnett Road.

The victim told police when he left the bar and was approached by a suspect, who showed a handgun and forced him into a vehicle.

The suspect was said to have drove the victim around for a while, robbing him of his wallet and cell phone.

The report indicated that the suspect eventually stopped and led the victim out of the vehicle at gunpoint into a wooden area.

The victim then reported he was hit in the knee with a baseball bat and in the face with the gun before causing him to become unconscious, the report showed.

No arrests have been made.
