Rollover crash blocks traffic on Dayton street

DAYTON — A driver suffered injuries believed to be life threatening after he lost control of his vehicle, striking a tree, before the car landed on its top, police said.

A female passenger was uninjured in the crash, which happened in the 2100 block of Pershing Boulevard around 12:15 p.m. Sunday.

According to witnesses, it appeared the driver’s brakes may have failed, however police are still working to determine the actual cause of the crash.

The driver, who is in his 80s, was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries, police said.
