DAYTON — Smoke was billowing in Dayton Sunday night after a large pile of metal was burning near an industrial building.

The fire was reported around 9:45 p.m. at the Franklin Iron & Metal Corp. property on East First Street. It was reported as a large pile of metal burning that was only 30 feet away from the building, according to the Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Center.

A witness said there were multiple fire vehicles on scene and that a large amount of smoke could be seen in the area.
