PIQUA — A Troy man indicted on charges including involuntary manslaughter in the March 25 overdose death of a Piqua man pleaded not guilty this week to four felony charges in Miami County Common Pleas Court.

Jeremy Alspaugh, 33, was indicted on first-degree felony involuntary manslaughter, second-degree corrupting another with drugs, third-degree tampering with evidence and fifth-degree trafficking in drugs in the March 25 death of Michael Henderson, 44, of Piqua.

County Prosecutor Tony Kendell said Alspaugh is accused of knowingly administering heroin to Henderson, knowingly selling or offering to sell him cocaine and allegedly causing the death as a result of corrupting another with drugs.

The tampering with evidence charge includes accusations he attempted to alter the scene of the alleged crime.

Alspaugh was released on a recognizance bond with conditions after pleading not guilty Oct. 3. A pretrial hearing is scheduled Oct. 16.
