"The Grand of Sugarcreek" project, billed as a luxury senior living facility, is headed to the Sugarcreek Twp. trustees for approval now that the zoning commission has blessed the preliminary plan.

The commission gave its first green light in the approvals process Tuesday night for the $60 million project.
Once the trustees vote, the developer for "The Grand," to be situated on approximately 10 acres on what is now the Rollandia Golf Center at 4990 Wilmington Pike, will present a more comprehensive plan for final approval.
Groundbreaking is expected in the first quarter of 2018.
The estimated completion date is planned for the second quarter of 2019, said the developer, Ian Guttman, Guttman Properties CEO.
Guttman Properties has 42 acres under contract to build a senior community, twin single-family detached homes and a multi-family rental community.
He said the large part of the parcel will include approximately 250 apartments, 40 to 50 duplex units and 200 senior housing units. The community will include 123 senior independent living, 57 assisted living and 20 memory care units.
"We're excited to be working with the township administration to fulfill senior housing needs in the community," Guttman said in a prepared statement released Wednesday night.
