Police: Springfield man passes out driving children

A Springfield man is being held at the Clark County Jail after a witness noticed him passed out at the wheel with two child passengers.

Coty Mounts, 25, pleaded not guilty Friday to two charges of child endangering.

Police were dispatched to Southern Avenue at 3:45 p.m. Thursday, where Mounts had parked his van, according to a police report.

Mounts was found punching himself in the face and yelling at one of the juvenile passengers, the report said.

The police found him to be under the influence of drugs.

The witness said that the van was nearly hit by another vehicle on Pine Street while Mounts was unconscious and the van was in motion.
