Dayton firefighters called to garage fire

UPDATE @ 4:38 p.m.:

A garage fire in the 400 block of Sheridan Avenue was likely sparked by an electrical problem, Dayton fire officials said.

Dayton firefighters were called around 4 p.m. today to the garage fire.

An extension cord was burned in half inside the structure, but there were no cars parked inside at the time of the blaze.

A damage estimate was not immediately available.

FIRST REPORT

Firefighters were called this afternoon to a garage fire in the 400 block of Sheridan Avenue.

The nearby intersection of Pleasant and Harbine avenues is blocked by fire trucks.

An investigator has been called to the scene, but the cause of the fire has not been released.
