Snow, wind make for poor visibility on roads

White-out conditions are being reported in various parts of the Miami Valley.

Officers in Clark County reported visibility on Ohio 68 was significantly reduced.

Residents in Sidney and in Botkins both sent us videos showing what appeared to be white-out conditions.

FIRST REPORT

Snow showers will be present through the morning before very gusty winds will pick up this afternoon.

An Arctic front will move through this morning bringing snow showers before temperatures drop and gusty winds pick up according to Storm Center 7 Meteorologist Carrieann Marit. Accumulation will be light, but with the heavy winds visibility could be severely reduced during bursts. Wind gusts could push over 30 mph as the snow showers taper down by the afternoon. Temperatures will fall quickly during the day with wind chills near 0 during the afternoon.

A Wind Child Advisory issued by the National Weather Service will go into effect at 6 p.m. tonight for the entire Miami Valley, and will last through 4 p.m. Sunday.

Temperatures continue to drop tonight with lows near zero. Wind chills will be at -10 to -15 below zero at times during the overnight.

Sunday will be cold again with highs recovering around 10 during the day. Wind chills will also be frigid with values below 0 most of the day.

Monday: Sun and some clouds as temperatures reach the low 20s.

Tuesday: More sun and clouds with temperatures approach the normal high for this time of year around the low 30s.

Wednesday: A few snow showers, gusty winds, and more Arctic air arrive. Highs only reaching the upper teens.
