An ESPN Colombia journalist escaped serious injury on Tuesday when a large portion of the set collapsed, pinning him to a desk.
Carlos Orduz was one of several announcers taping a show when a piece of the set fell over his back, slamming him against the desk where he was sitting, Sports Illustrated reported.
As the other members of the broadcast team looked on in stunned silence, the cameras broke away from the wide shot of the anchors, the magazine reported. ESPN FC Radio anchor Francisco Javier Vélez regained his composure and sent the show to a commercial break.

ESPN Colombia said Orduz was treated immediately by medical personnel. Orduz tweeted on Wednesday that he was only bruised and took “a blow to the nose (no fracture),” according to a translation of the tweet, USA Today reported.
“To those who wrote to me and greeted me about the accident last night, I must tell you that I am fine, thank God after the medical checkup,” Orduz tweeted.
