A Flood Watch in the Miami Valley has been issued for this afternoon through Friday afternoon for most of the Miami Valley, said Storm Center 7 Meteorologist Kirstie Zontini.
>>Solar Storm could hit parts of Earth Thursday morning
More rain and even a few storms will keep the threat for minor flooding across the Miami Valley. Two-day totals will range from ½-inch to 1½ inches across the area.
Impacts: Flooding around creeks and streams. Minor flooding near low-lying fields. Ponding on the roads or streets.
On the road: Drivers should use caution on the roads during the evening hours Thursday and Friday morning when rapid rainfall could clog up storm drains.
>> Rain showers expected through end of week
Rivers: Most of the Miami Valley rivers will see their levels rise. There is usually a lag between the rain falling and rivers cresting or reaching their forecasted high levels. Saturday morning, the Great Miami River in Dayton is expected to crest at about 29 feet. This means the bike path can experience some flooding, but it should stay just below the action stage. Mad River in Springfield will also rise, but not enough to cause major flooding issues.
If you leave near a creek, stream or river, watch for changes over the next few days.
