NWS: 4 tornadoes hit southern, SE Ohio Wednesday night, including 1 in Clinton County

WILMINGTON — UPDATE @ 9:31 p.m.: A fourth tornado has been confirmed as having hit southern and southeast Ohio on Wednesday night, National Weather Service meteorologists said Friday night.

The fourth tornado, an EF-0, touched down about 10:53 p.m. near Edenton in Clermont County. It lifted two minutes later.

NWS storm investigators also said they confirmed straight-line wind damage from those same storms Wednesday night. The straight-line winds, estimate at nearly 90 mph, caused structural and tree damage in Day Heights, Clermont County.

Like the other three tornadoes that hit southern and southeast Ohio on Wednesday night, neither the fourth twister nor the straight-line winds resulted in any injuries, NWS meteorologists said.

INITIAL REPORT

Three tornadoes touched down during storms that raked Ohio this week, the National Weather Service in Wilmington confirmed Friday.

One hit 3 miles southeast of Blanchester in southern Clinton County just after 11 p.m. Wednesday and lifted two minutes later, about 4 miles north of Fayetteville in Brown County.

The second touched down just before 11 p.m. southwest of Fayetteville. The third hit near Lake Lorelei in northern Brown County, also just before 11 p.m..

All three registered EF-0, with speeds from 65 mph to 80 mph.

The Lake Lorelei twister was on the ground the longest, traveling 2.5 miles for about three minutes.

No injuries were reported from any of the twisters, NWS storm investigators said.
