MINSTER — A camper at Lake Loramie State Park and campgrounds was injured when pinned by a tree that fell during Wednesday afternoon’s windy thunderstorms, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is reporting.

The victim, whose condition was not known, initially was taken to Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy, then to Miami Valley Hospital.
Camper Joe Mitchell told News Center 7′s Monica Castro he saw his fellow camper outside during the storms, trying to get hold of equipment that was blowing in the wind.
“Just being at the wrong place at the wrong time,” Mitchell said. "Then the tree fell on him. "
Multiple trees were reported down at the park and campgrounds as storms hit the area, according to the sheriff's office.

The incident was reported about 4:40 p.m., according to dispatch.
