VANDALIA — Butler High School reported Tuesday that one of its students has tested positive for COVID-19 and the school is following the county health department’s protocols for quarantine and contact tracing, Vandalia-Butler Schools Superintendent Rob O’Leary said.

The district learned of the case Tuesday, O’Leary said in a One-Call statement also issued via social media.
“The families of all students who were within close contact with the student who tested positive have been notified and will have to follow the quarantine procedures outlines by the [Public Health - Dayton & Montgomery County] health department,” he said.

O’Leary assured parents and guardians that the district plans to publish a weekly update showing the number of positive cases in district buildings.
