DAYTON — Kroger Health will offer drive-thru and walk-up testing at the Good Neighbor House downtown beginning Wednesday.

This site is made possible through logistical support from Kettering Health Network.

  • WHEN: Wednesday (June 24) through Saturday (June 27), 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • WHERE: Good Neighbor House, 627 E. 1st St.

Community members can register at: http://krogerhealth.com/covidtesting.

People needing a test will use a virtual screening tool, based on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines, to see if they are eligible according to CDC, state and local government recommendations.

Those eligible will then select the appropriate testing location and appointment time and receive an email confirmation with pre-appointment paperwork.

When you arrive for a test, have your photo ID ready and leave your windows rolled up for check-in. A health care practitioner will approach your car and tell you when to lower your window.

The drive-thru testing location has a self-administered nasal swab that must be ordered and observed by a provider. Kroger determined its testing methodology because it increases the number of tests that can be provided while conserving personal protective equipment.

This on-site testing is supported with lab services provided by eTrueNorth, a contractor of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

You can expect test results within approximately 48 hours. Kroger Health is expected to administer up to 300 tests per day.

Good Neighbor House is a Dayton community nonprofit that empowers healthier communities by fostering the physical, emotional and spiritual well-being of its neighbors. The organization provides dental, vision and medical care as well as a food pantry.
