MIAMISBURG — UPDATE @ 7:05 p.m.: An unknown number of Miamisburg High School student athletes were exposed to the positive case of COVID-19 at the party at two locations in the city July 11 and 12, Jason Shade, Miamisburg City Schools Athletics Administration said in a message to parents and guardians.
“We are communicating with the families whose children were directly affected and following protocols set forth by the Montgomery County health department,” Shade wrote in the message.
If a student athlete in one of the following groups tests positive, Shade said, additional protocols will be implemented.
The groups he mentioned include high school football, boys and girls soccer, cheer, boys basketball and girls volleyball.
Shade said wearing a mask or face covering is mandatory inside and outside all Miamisburg City Schools facilities for all team members, coaches and support staff of all sports and/or activities unless a student athlete is vigorously involved in an exercise.
Shade is asking all parents and guardians to monitor their children for symptoms listed by the CDC, get the child tested or isolate the child for 14 days if testing is not possible.

Students and guests were at a pool party, an indoor party and sleepover at the two locations July 11 and 12.
Dozens of students and others attended, including many from Miamisburg High School and some from surrounding districts.
Public Health is not able to acquire contact information for all of the individuals at the party, officials are asking partygoers to contact Public Health. If you, or anyone you know, was at this two-day pool party or sleepover, you may have been exposed to the virus and could be infected.
Public Health is asking that those individuals please call (937) 818-6715 so we may discuss your risk level with you. In addition, we are asking attendees to monitor themselves closely for symptoms and contact their healthcare provider should symptoms develop.
Public Health will provide you with instructions for self-quarantine, monitoring symptoms, and testing as needed.
