Pieces of the structure, which at one time housed a truck and a riding mower, were strewn across the road.

The property is north and east of Greenville. Darke County was under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for several hours Monday afternoon as rough weather moved through the region. Several counties were under the watch as well during the late afternoon and early evening, including Clark, Greene, Miami, Montgomery and Logan, according to Storm Center 7 Chief Meteorologist McCall Vrydaghs.

Reports of lightning strikes, downed wires and hundreds of power outages were made in the aftermath of the storms.

At the Kruckeberg Road property, wind is believed to have moved the barn, foundation and all, at least 15 feet east from where it housed those items to a spot right next to a chicken coop on the property.

The residents said there were no injuries.

Straight-line winds are likely to blame for the damage to the barn, according to National Weather Service forecasters in Wilmington.
