NEAR WAYNESVILLE — UPDATE
Four people were rescued from the Little Miami River Tuesday afternoon.
The four got into the river at Middletown Road in inflatable tubes and ran into some troubled water.
One was caught in what rescuers called a ‘strainer,’ which could be a downed tree or brush pile.
His friend was able to free him and they made it to an island along with one other person. They waited for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources to get them.
The fourth member of the party went past the island but she was later rescued.
All four are safe and out of the water.
