Coroner identifies man killed in deadly Dayton shooting Thursday night

DAYTON — UPDATE @ 11:15 a.m. (May 29):

The victim in this fatal shooting has been identified as 47-year-old Phillip Wolliver-Blythe of Dayton, according to Montgomery County Coroner Dr. Kent Harshbarger.

FIRST REPORT (May 28)

A male found shot in the 400 block of Bowen Street is dead and police are starting a homicide investigation, Dayton Lt. Steven Bauer said.

A caller to 9-1-1 said she heard gunfire sometime after 7:30 p.m. but did not see who was doing the shooting, according to Montgomery County Regional Dispatch.

Bauer said the victim, a male believed to be 48 years old, was shot more than once.

Bauer also said police do not have a suspect right now, but homicide detectives have been called to the scene.
