Dustin Hutchins, of New Paris, was a passenger in a 2014 Hyundai and died from his injuries after he was flown to Miami Valley Hospital by a CareFlight medical helicopter, Sheriff Mike Simpson said in a media release Monday.

The crash was reported in the 6300 block of U.S. 35, near Oxford Gettysburg Road, around 3:30 p.m. Sunday, according to the sheriff’s office.

A preliminary investigation found the Hyundai, driven by Taylor Wilburn, 20, of Camden, was traveling west on U.S. 35 when it went left-of-center and crashed into a minivan, investigators said. The Hyundai went into a field before it caught fire.

Hutchins, a passenger in the Hyundai, later died from his injuries at Miami Valley Hospital. Wilburn was transported to Reid Hospital in Richmond with serious injuries.

The occupants of the minivan, who were not identified, suffered non-life threatening injuries in the crash, investigators said.
