Brookville man ID’d as driver killed after car slams into Perry Twp. house, catches fire

PERRY TWP. — A Brookville man died from his injuries early Sunday morning after crashing a car into a house in Perry Twp., according to police.

The crash happened in the 14,000 block of East Westbrook Road, west of Brookville, around 2:30 a.m. Sunday. Fire crews were called to the scene on reports of a car that crashed into a structure and caught fire, dispatchers confirmed to News Center 7.

Kenson Bell, 24, of Brookville, was identified as the victim of the crash, a Perry Twp. police spokesperson told News Center 7. Bell was taken from the scene to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.

A medical helicopter was initially called to the scene before crews canceled to transport one person to the hospital by ambulance, dispatch confirmed.

No one was hurt inside the structure and excessive speed is believed to be a factor in the crash, the police spokesperson said.
