CENTERVILLE — A 9-year-old boy is dead after being hit by a construction truck in Centerville Tuesday afternoon.

Bryson Abraham was identified Wednesday morning as the child that died in the crash, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office. The coroner’s office did not provide Abraham’s hometown, citing Marsy’s Law, but it was listed in a crash report released Wednesday afternoon.

Around 3:15 p.m. Centerville police were called to the intersection of Revere Village Court and South Main Street to reports of a person hit by a car, according to a spokesperson for Centerville Police Department.

Abraham was walking across South Main Street near Revere Village Court when he was hit by a mid-sized construction truck. The truck had been traveling north on South Main Street in the right lane at the time of the crash, according to a Centerville police crash report.

Abraham was a rising fourth grader at Driscoll Elementary, a Centerville City Schools spokesperson confirmed to News Center 7.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with Bryson’s family and friends, and we have support in place for any of our students and staff members who need it,” the spokesperson said.

Davis said the driver of the truck had been cooperative and remained on the scene after the crash.

News Center 7 checked with Centerville Police Wednesday to see if they anticipate filing any citations or charges against the driver. Davis said it was too early into the investigation for that to be determined.
