UPDATE: Child found safe, Amber Alert canceled for 10-year-old boy from Columbiana County

Michael Shane Shields has been found safe and a statewide Amber Alert has been canceled.

INITIAL REPORT

An Amber Alert has been issued by the Libson Police Department statewide for a 10-year-old boy who was abducted from Columbiana County.

The boy’s name is Michael Shane Shields. He is a white, 4 foot 8 inches tall, weighs 80 pounds and has brown hair and blue eyes.

He was last seen wearing a gray and blue shirt with a silver basketball and black shorts.

The suspect’s name is unknown, but is possibly Brian. The suspect is white, 34, 5 foot 6 inches tall, weighs 160 pounds and has brown and gray hair and unknown eye color.

He has full tattoo sleeves on both arms with stars on his forearms. He has a full brown and gray beard and was last seen wearing a gray tank top and blue jeans.

The vehicle involves is a red older model Chevrolet Cavaliere.

Shields was let outside to play with two boys, aged 12 and 13, and has not returned home since.
