An Air Pollution Advisory is in effect Friday and Saturday for Clark, Greene, Darke, Miami, Montgomery and Preble counties, issued by the Regional Air Pollution Control Agency.
The Air Quality Index forecast is 105 for Friday and 115 for Saturday. Anything reading 101 or higher is deemed unhealthy for sensitive groups.
An Excessive Heat Warning is in effect through 8 p.m. Sunday for Montgomery County and a Heat Advisory is in effect until 8 p.m. Sunday for the rest of the region. Storm Center 7 Chief Meteorologist McCall Vrydaghs forecasting temperatures in the middle 90s. However, with the heat index, it will feel like 110 degrees, Vrydaghs said.

Conditions such as those contribute to the formation of ground-level ozone and may lead to elevated air pollution.
Children, seniors and those with respiratory diseases should reduce prolonged or heavy exertion. While it is OK to be outside during an Air Pollution Advisory, people should take more breaks and do less strenuous activity, RAPCA reported.

The two-day air pollution advisory is the second such advisory for the year; the first was issued July 13.
To reduce ground-level ozone:
- Avoid driving if possible. If not, try to combine running errands or delaying them until the Air Pollution Advisory is lifted. While driving, avoid excessive idling, especially at drive-through windows.
- Refuel vehicles after 8 p.m. if possible, or wait until the advisory is over. Make sure the gas cap is on tightly to avoid letting gas fumes escape.
- Limit the use of gasoline-powered equipment around the home, such as lawn mowers, chainsaws, power trimmers and shredders.
- Mow lawns after 6 p.m.
