Ambulance driver cited after vehicle accident in Harrison Twp.

UPDATE @ 8:25 p.m.:

A woman and her 8-year-old grandson were taken to Grandview Medical Center after a Premier Health ambulance struck the back of their car.

The ambulance did not have its lights and sirens activated at the time of the crash, and it did not have any passengers. It was unknown whether the driver was on a call.

The ambulance driver is expected to be cited for assured clear distance, deputies said.

FIRST REPORT:

An ambulance and car were involved in a crash this evening in the 4200 block of North Main Street.

Crews were dispatched around 7:30 p.m., and a second medic was requested.

Injuries were reported, but they were not considered life-threatening.

The ambulance didn’t have any passengers, and it is unknown how many occupants were in the vehicle.
