A robbery involving a 12-year-old boy stealing a woman’s beer at a Speedway parking lot with a BB gun was the result of a drug debt, according to Moraine police.

Officers responded to a reported armed robbery around 6:10 p.m. Saturday in the 2600 block of West Alex Bell Road.

The woman reported that the boy had a gun that he showed her by pulling up his sweatshirt.

“He just approached me and took what I purchased at Speedway,” she said to a dispatcher in a 911 call.

When the dispatcher asked if the boy pointed the alleged gun at her she said, “He showed me the gun.”

She also was able to give police the boy’s first name and age.

Officers tracked him to a home nearby and found the alleged gun used in the robbery, which they determined to be a BB gun.
