Riverside child endangering: 2 arrested; Man blames toddler for infant’s injuries

Police arrested two people in Riverside for child endangering after a man called 911 and reported a 10-month-old child was having difficulty breathing, according to records.

Hannah Jean Barnes, 20, and Collin Michael Hanna, 22, remain in jail without bond, according to jail records. They were arrested Monday in the 400 block of Penn Avenue.

Riverside police received a 911 call from the same address Oct. 23 from Collin Hanna, who identified himself as the baby’s father. He said the child was 10 months old and  was having trouble breathing.

“My 2-year-old daughter hit him in the head and I don’t know if it’s causing anything wrong with him, but he needs help,” Hanna told the 911 operator. He said the incident had happened two days prior.

Hanna repeated that the infant was having trouble breathing.

We are working to learn more about the infant’s condition.
