As fear of spreading the coronavirus continues, the Montgomery County Jail has made some changes to help keep their inmates as healthy as possible.

A little over 300 inmates have been released from the Montgomery County Jail since March 16, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
News Center 7 asked what criteria inmates must meet to be released.
“The Montgomery County Court System will continue to review their cases, dockets and sentences to ultimately determine who should or should not be released and if released, what sanctions the court will impose.”

They are working hard to limit the number of inmates that remain in the jail, they said.
“The Sheriff’s responsibility is ensuring the care, custody, and control of the inmates while they are incarcerated at the Montgomery County Jail.”
