Human Trafficking is real; Here’s how you can help

A human trafficking educational program will be available in Greene County on Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m.

"Hidden in Plain Sight" is a Human Trafficking Educational Forum that will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church located at 1240 South Maple Street in Fairborn. This event is open to the public and has no admission fee.

Three regional organizations that are committed to helping individuals impacted by human trafficking are partnering together to host this event: Ohio Faith Net, a Faith-Based Partner from Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine's Human Trafficking Commission, Thrivent Financial and Safe Harbor House, and Abiding Christ Lutheran Church.

Pastor Greg Delaney serves as the Reach Hope Director and is coordinating this event, Beth Bullock is the Reach Advocacy Director and is providing the HT101 Training, and Terry Powers of Thrivent Financial is a coordinating sponsor and advocate.

During the event, attendees will participate in "Human Trafficking 101," which is a training for church leaders and faith partners on avenues of ministry and ways to help individuals caught in human trafficking, and will also include a testimony from a local human trafficking individual.

Ohio Faith Net (www.reachfortomorrowohio.org) is a Non-Profit Organization that focuses on five areas of service; restoration, education, advocating, collaborating, and providing hope for individuals caught in human trafficking and suffering trauma - as well is a leader in educational and prevention programming.
