Help Middletown Police identify suspects, vehicles from fatal shooting

UPDATE @ 9:40 p.m.:

A fatal shooting that took place Saturday afternoon is currently under investigation by Middletown Police.

Police dispatch were told that a gold KIA with a small spare tire on the vehicle and black primer bumpers on the front and back fled the area right after the shooting.

When police arrived they found Kapriece Fuller, 23, dead on the front porch from an apparent gunshot wound.

A separate witness told police a gray Volkswagen Beetle occupied by three black males, who had reportedly been pointing guns at Fuller while he was at Douglass Park, was also involved. Police said that vehicle was using a small spare tire.

Police are asking anyone who sees these vehicles to call 911 immediately. Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to contact Detective Brandon Highley at 513-425-7724.

Maj. Scott Reeve declined to comment further on the ongoing investigation.

Fuller appeared for a preliminary hearing in Middletown Municipal Court on May 18, and was bound over to a Butler County grand jury for further consideration of felony charges including assault, tampering with evidence and carrying a concealed weapon, along with two other misdemeanor charges.

According to online court records, Fuller had nearly three dozen prior offenses.

FIRST REPORT:

A man was fatally shot Saturday afternoon around 2:30 p.m. in the 1600 block of 16th Avenue.

This is the second homicide of the year, said Middletown Chief of Police Rodney Muterspaw.

The names of the victim and suspect are unknown until further investigation and contact with the victim’s family.

The investigation is ongoing.
