Crews were dispatched to the wreck just before 6 p.m., per initial reports.
Two victims were taken to Miami Valley Hospital by medical helicopter, and the other two victims were taken to Upper Valley Medical Center by ground transport.
The preliminary investigation shows that one of the vehicles did not obey a stop sign and continued into the path of the other vehicle, according to the sheriff’s office.
A sheriff’s traffic reconstruction team was on scene because of the seriousness of the injuries.
U.S. 36 from East Broadway and North High streets were closed for the wreck, but have since reopened.
