CareFlight airlifted a male pedestrian to the hospital after he was struck by a car Friday evening at the intersection of E. Main and Walnut Streets, our media partner Clinton Randal from the Early Bird Newspaper reported.

The Greenville Police Department confirmed the male subject was crossing northbound inside a crosswalk at the intersection when he was struck by a silver Pontiac Grand Prix that was turning westbound from the Walnut Street traffic light. According to witnesses, the pedestrian rolled over the vehicle after the initial impact.

The man suffered head injuries during the incident, and CareFlight was requested to transport him.

His condition is unknown at this time, and the male driver of the vehicle was not injured.

An accident reconstruction team was called to help with the crash investigation.
