UPDATE @ 3:50 p.m.: Sheriff's investigators know who fatally stabbed 42-year-old Amber Hoover but they have not arrested the person.

Hoover, found behind a residence at 2673 Embury Park Road in Harrison Twp. just after 1:10 a.m. Sunday, was pronounced dead at Grandview Medical Center.

According to a Montgomery County Sheriff's incident report, deputies found two witnesses and a possible suspect with the body. A man was performing CPR on the Dayton woman, as another female was kneeling right behind him, when a deputy yelled, "Who stabbed her?"

The kneeling female raised her left hand and said, "I did."

The deputy ordered the female to stand, turn around and put her hands behind her back.

Deputies took over doing the CPR until paramedics arrived and took Hoover to the hospital.

Monday afternoon, the coroner's office ruled the incident a homicide and said Hoover died of multiple stab wounds.

Detectives interviewed two brothers at the scene and took a 22-year-old woman in for questioning, according to the incident report, which indicates that the 22-year-old is dating one of the brothers and that Hoover is that same man's former girlfriend.

Hoover apparently lives next door to her former beau and why she was at his house early Sunday has not been made clear so far in the investigation, according to detectives.

Deputies, in the report, confirm that both the 22-year-old woman and her boyfriend had civil protection orders against Hoover, who was served with those orders in May.

On May 10, a sheriff's report details an incident where the 22-year-old woman reported that someone slashed two tires on her SUV and carved a derogatory name in the passenger side of the vehicle.

The SUV was at her boyfriend's house at the time, according to the report, which also indicates that the 22-year-old woman suspected Hoover.

A detective said investigators have recovered the knife they believe was used in Hoover's stabbing.

Dectectives will present their evidence to a county prosecutor's panel once the investigation is complete.
