The Dayton Food Bank’s last mobile distribution center following the Memorial Day tornado outbreak took place in Trotwood on Thursday.
Hundreds of men, women and children showed up and braved the summer heat. Long lines prove that more relief is still needed.

“Currently it’s food, not as much water,” Dayton Food Bank official Lee Lauren Truesdale told News Center 7’s James Rider. "It's really a good reminder for all of us how easy it is to fall into this type of situation. Anybody can need help."
People started lining up several hours early. The line lasted for hours. Truesdale said she has never seen this much poverty in her six years at the food bank.
Cox Media Group Ohio employees have been present to help at each one of the mobile distribution centers.

"Seeing the need that is still here for the community, it actually touches my heart that the food bank and Channel 7 have done all that they've done to make sure my citizens get all the things that they need," Trotwood Mayor Mary McDonald said.
The food bank will continue to distribute food on Friday, 1 to 3 p.m., at 56 Armor Place. The food bank plans to continue distributing food throughout July.
