The Butler County Health Department is now providing free Narcan kits and education sessions about the medication that counteracts the effects of heroin and other opioids.

Project DAWN will provide residents with free kits containing two nasal doses of naloxone, the generic form of Narcan, and two face shields. Residents must complete an education session to receive the medication. The education sessions are offered by appointment only, according to the health department.
