SPRINGFIELD — UPDATE 10:15 p.m.:
Ohio State Highway Patrol say the man involved in a single-car crash on State Route 4 near Lower Valley Pike may have suffered from a medical emergency.
Raymond Castle, 54, of Springfield, was driving north on state Route 4 when he went off the left side of the road and crossed into the southbound lanes.
Castle’s car struck the ditch on the north side of the road and rolled over. Castle was not wearing a seat belt and was partially ejected from his car.
Springfield and Bethel township emergency crews responded to the scene and Castle was taken to Miami Valley by CareFlight.
FIRST REPORT:
CareFlight responded to the scene of a serious crash around 3:40 p.m. on state Route 4 near Lower Valley Pike in Springfield.
The driver was ejected from the vehicle and transported to Miami Valley Hospital by CareFlight.

Crews remain on scene but the highway has since opened up.
