Cedar Point going cashless this year

SANDUSKY — Cedar Point is making a change to the way guests can pay for things during the 2022 season.

The amusement park, located in Sandusky, is going cashless, according to WTOL, our CBS affiliate in Toledo.

The change means that all transactions at the amusement park or its various properties will have to be done using a credit or debit card. WTOL reported that Apple Pay and Google Pay will also be accepted.

“The cashless transactions are safe, quick and will significantly improve the guest experience at dining, retail and point-of-sale spots throughout the park,” Cedar Point officials said Thursday, according to WTOL.

The park will have Cash-to-Card Kiosks for those who carry cash, according to their website. The kiosks will allow guests to convert cash, up to $500, into a prepaid card. There is a $5 amount required.

The move comes after Kings Island went cashless in July 2021.
