Celina Police Department to hold ‘Shop with a Cop’ program in December

The Celina Police Department’s ‘Shop with a Cop program’ is the recipient for the 2022 Mercer Savings Bank Giving Mission sponsored through the Grand Lake Law Enforcement Association, according to the Mercer Savings Bank website.

The Shop with a Cop program allows any child under the age of 18 in Mercer County to shop with a uniformed police officer for Christmas in December.

Participating officers are given a budget provided through donations, the website said. The goal for the budget this year is around $150 to $200 for each child to spend.

Officers encourage the kids to buy one thing they need and one thing they want, although what they would like to buy is ultimately up to them, the website said.
