BEAVERCREEK — Free Wash Weekend at Mike’s Carwash in Beavercreek is underway and for this location, it’s about much more than a clean car.
>>Sunshine, comfortable temperatures expected through the weekend
“It brings a lot of business in,” said customer Rick Schoby.
There are many businesses and restaurants along North Fairfield Road where Mike’s Carwash is located.
Many of those businesses were damaged by a tornado on Memorial Day in 2019 and were forced to close due to COVID-19.
“It’s been a process for sure,” said Mike’s Carwash Area Director Will Reynolds. “After the tornado, we all had to step back and evaluate, “Is this where we want to be?” and for us it was a simple decision to rebuild.”
It took Mike’s Carwash about five months to rebuild and cost $6 million, said Reynolds.
Mike’s Carwash was only open for a few months before it was forced to shut down a second time due to COVID-19 concerns.

“We wanted to dial back and make sure customers were safe,” said Reynolds.
With area businesses reopen, people can get a free car wash and enjoy some of the area businesses this weekend.
Free Wash Weekend ends on Sunday.
Mike’s Carwash is also taking donations for the area non-profit, 4 Paws for Ability.
