Coronavirus: 2 West Carrollton workers test positive; trash collection cancelled for Wednesday

WEST CARROLLTON — West Carrollton suspended trash collection for Wednesday after two city workers tested positive for COVID-19, according to a city spokesperson.

The two workers will be self-isolating, in accordance with Center for Disease Control protocols. Other workers that were in direct contact with the two workers will be self-isolating today and will be monitoring themselves for 14 days, according to the city spokesperson.

“The city will be conducting additional cleaning and sanitizing of all buildings, garages, and vehicles prior to the personnel in the affected departments resuming all duties in their full capacity.,” the spokesperson said in the media release.

Trash collection is expected to resume as normal Thursday and will collect also collect trash on the routes normally scheduled for Wednesday. Friday’s trash collection schedule is expected to remain as normal, the spokesperson said.
