Coronavirus: Bass Pro Shops founder donates thousands of masks to Miami Valley Hospital

DAYTON — Miami Valley Hospital will be the recipient of 6,000 FDA-approved face masks courtesy of a donation from Bass Pro Shops’ founder Johnny Morris, according to a company spokesperson.

The donation to the Dayton hospital is a part of a larger donation of 1 million masks nationwide made personally by Morris, the spokesperson said in a media release.

The masks are ASTM Level 1 masks, used as standard procedure masks, and are being sent to over 200 communities nationwide. Masks with be donated next week with the help of nonprofit organization Convoy of Hope, Bass Pro Shops officials said.

“These heroic men and women continue to dedicate their lives to save the loved ones of others, and we are all honored to support them,” Bass Pro Shops founder Johnny Morris said in a media release.

Hospitals and first responders receiving masks were identified by Convoy of Hope and the nonprofit organization will help with the delivery of the masks.
