OHIO — Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine said his order requiring everyone, customers and workers, to wear masks went too far in an interview on ABC’s “This Week,” Sunday morning.
“It became clear to me that that was just a bridge too far," DeWine said.

Although it is not mandatory, the governor strongly recommends wearing a mask as a symbol of kindness and a way of protecting the people who stock the shelves everyday.

During the interview, he noted that the order had the potential to impede on his ability to communicate with Ohioans if they became hung up on the mandatory order.
“We have to bring the economy back but we have to continue to protect people," he said.
