FAIRBORN — Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, organizers announced the annual Fairborn 4th of July Festival will be cancelled this year, a city spokesperson said in a social media post.

City administrators and festival committee members cited guidance and restrictions from state health officials, regarding social distancing and limitations on large gatherings, as the reasons for the cancellation.

The cancellation effects all weekend events for Independence Day, including the July 3rd Block Party, and the parade and fireworks show on July 4.
“We were looking forward to celebrating America’s Independence with the entire community, but our primary concern continues to be the health, safety, and welfare of our residents, employees, and visitors," the city said in the message posted to Facebook.
